Objectively, the hermitage at Rietzer Berg is rather small. But it's still big enough for three workspaces. In the two-weeks stay of the artist couple Stefanie Müller and Klaus Dietl there was a sound studio inside, a painting studio on the terrace and a sewing shop next to it.

The two artists from Munich are traveling a lot in their lives, organize projects and events for improvisation, film, textiles and sound and always work in different locations and with different people. That is why they especially enjoyed the solitude from the rest of the world and in this creative space and free time lots of things developed that weren't even planned.

Stefanie and Klaus spent a lot of time on the property and with the animals – got in touch with them and recorded their sounds. They were especially fascinated by little sounds like chewing and snorting. Their recorded sounds will be used in different ways – like for the sound design for radio plays.

In the painting studio, Klaus created oil paints out of coal and fats and painted with those. Stefanie mostly made sketches for her sewing projects and sewed an impressive costume out of different textile leftovers.

And last but not least, they witnessed the birth of a donkey and two lambs shortly before leaving - quite an experience!
