Donkeys
Donkeys are desert animals and therefore good feed converters which mean they don't need a lot of food. Too much or wrong feed can make them fat or lead to colics or hoof diseases. They mostly eat hay and straw, bark, sticks and twigs and - as a special treat and only in moderation - a carrot or an apple.
Allowed
Hay, straw, bark, sticks, twigs, grass
Only in moderation
Apples, carrots, beets, beetroot
Not allowed
Bread, too much fruit, other treats
