Nadine Karl and Steffen Greiner
A yellow heart made out of natural soap is now part of the art collection at Rietzer Berg. The heart that is cast into a shape by artist Nadine Karl is supposed to represent the loss of materiality and will be exhibited in public space. Before this object will be displayed at an exhibition in June, another work of the artist will be shown at the state parliament in Düsseldorf on March 21, 2022. Nadine Karl, a student at the art academy Düsseldorf who mixes sculpting, installations, performance and videos in her art, will present a video of a performance in the course of an exhibition of 20 artists. She mostly used the stay at Rietzer Berg to calm down without medial distraction and to prepare her contribution to the Schumannfest.
At the same time, cultural scientist, journalist and lecturer Steffen Greiner was visiting the residence. His newest work, the nonfiction book "Die Diktatur der Wahrheit: Eine Zeitreise zu den ersten Querdenkern“ (The dictatorship of the truth: Time travel to the first "Querdenker") was published on February 19,2022. In his book, he explores the meaning of spiritual, rationality sceptical movements between national, green and anarchist thinking and draws parallels between "Querdenker" from 100 years ago and today. The book was presented on March 18, 2022 in the scope of the "Long night of nonfiction" at the Leipzig Book Fair. The official book launch will happen on April 4, 2022 at the SO36 in Berlin. The author took a rest from the last intensive work phase, prepared for the book presentation and drew strength for future projects.
The two of them were accompanied by Brauni and Flocke at the property of the residence and during a donkey walk.
