Collective compost composition - workshop about compost and soil and artistic compost stacking
What does a compost consist of? What belongs in it and how does the transformation from organic material to humus work? You'll learn this and much more in our workshop on April 13.
You will get a chance to implement your new theoretical knowledge immediately. Like layering a giant lasagna, we stack straw, donkey manure, clay powder or sheep's wool and everything else that likes to rot in a healthy way. If you like, you can put on festive clothes that can get dirty. Appropriate costumes are available but you are welcome to bring your own clothes. We also invite you to bring kitchen scraps or similar as a contribution to our compost artwork.
The event is framed by music: by layering different tones and rhythms and singing together, a sound improvisation develops parallel to the compost, which underlines the importance of the joint action.
The "compost composition" is a staged act of active climate protection, it connects people with each other and with the earth. In the subsequent workshop, we will learn more about organic material, the transformation processes in compost and what we can do ourselves.
