Jürgen and Tinka Scharsich
Jürgen and Tinka Scharsich heard a radio feature about the art hermitage at Rietzer Berg and set out immediately to have a look at it and apply for a stay. In July 2022 the couple enjoyed a stay together with their dog Anouk and had the time to concentrate on their art.
The artist Jürgen Scharsich has been paiting for 45 years and used the time in the residence to paint watercolor pictures of landscapes and made some sketches. They went on long walks together, always in the search of spots to paint. Jürgen mostly experimented with different colors and subjects on the terrace of the hermitage.
Artist Tinka Scharsich noticed how difficult it is to let go of a busy daily life and get into the creative flow. The first week she needed to process the stress of everyday life and would have loved to extend the stay another week to make up for that. But she had a lot of time to make music and the sound of her violine drifted through the woods and inspired her husband.
In their normal life, the two artists restore and reconstruct artwork and teach art in schools and workshops and will surely let their relaxation and energy from their time in the hermitage feed into those.
