Felix Geiser
The author Felix Geiser had long been planning to write at such a remote place. He is looking forward to completing his first novel and used his time in the hermitage to give his story the final touch.
The Berlin based writer arrived with the goal to get done as much as possible. However, the vastness and surrounding nature calmed him down considerably and a certain relaxation overcame him and his project. His multi-perspective novel is based on a fictional story: What happens to the VW factory after VW went bankrupt.
Felix started his novel during his studies of Creative Writing in Hildesheim. Up until then he had published short stories. During his studies he was stranded in Wolfsburg more than once due to delayed or cancelled trains from Berlin to Hildesheim. Therefore, he spent some time in this city and found it rather strange and inhospitable. Being a trained sociologist, he asked himself: What happens to people when they leave these familiar structures? Inspired by a project in Barcelona, he brought together many of those scenarios in his utopian novel.
Felix started his days in the hermitage with a cup of coffee and the vast view across the fields. During his breaks from writing, he went on walks, especially in the evening sun. He also went for a swim in a lake.
Once he completes the novel at the end of 2023, Felix Geiser will start looking for a publisher.
