Therese Rink
Therese Rink's stay at the hermitage was just as she had imagined it – only better. In her search for quiet places in nature without the noises of the city, the residence at Rietzer Berg was an ideal component of her 3-months trip through Europe. The South African artist started her travels in Belgium, will continue to an artist residence in Korfu and finish off by exhibiting her art in a gallery in the United Kingdom. Therese sells most of her works online through her website and Facebook and even the just finished paintings at Rietzer Berg directly found a new owner during her stay. For the Open Garden at the property of the landscape and art association she spontaneously produced lots of small paintings on cardboard and gave them away to the visitors.
Apart from lots of tranquility and relaxation, she went on long walks and bike excursions, enjoyed the sun and ate fried duck eggs with banana. In fact, the stay at the residence was as peaceful and quiet as she hadn't experienced in a very long time due to her busy life with an own guest house, her work and the situation in South Africa with the omnipresent demonstrations and chaotic traffic. It was pure luck for her to not having to do anything but just letting things drift.
