Late summer on the Rietzer Berg
With a very special light at this time of year, artist RéArt was able to capture the colorful late summer at the Rietzer Berg in pictures.
Painting as a balance
RéArt discovered painting during the Covid pandemic. It serves as a balance to his job and family. It frees his mind from thinking. Here at the art hermitage, RéArt painted with acrylic on canvas and used his palette knife technique to produce small cards for the art machine.
Exploring with all the senses
He did not experience the peace and quiet of the surroundings as loneliness, but rather enjoyed it. He started almost every morning of his 9-day stay with a sunrise bike ride. Across the fields and along the Emster Canal, RéArt used all his senses to collect the colors of the surroundings and sort them in his head. Later, he was able to transfer them to canvas or cardboard in the Hermitage. His favorite place to paint was outside on the terrace.
He gladly accepted the supply of vegetables from the landscape park. To his surprise, two of our community gardeners presented him with a large box of colorful vegetables from their ranks, which he was able to eat from.
