Please note that the event is cancelled due to illness.
The oldest cemetery in Germany is located near Groß Fredenwalde in the Uckermark. For the first time, a group of Stone Age hunter-gatherers buried their dead here in a permanent place. How did the graves differ from what we know today? And how did burial customs develop after that? Based on a unique site in Brandenburg, the lecture by archaeologist and expert on the Palaeolithic and Mesolithic Andreas Kotula from the Brandenburg State Office for the Preservation of Monuments delves into the burial customs of our ancestors.
